The group villa
The base camp by the lake
Your fishing group has a whole house to itself here, rather than a hotel room or a campsite. Smaller groups take the two-bedroom villa, larger ones the four-bedroom villa with room for up to eight. You prepare the day’s catch in the open kitchen, gather by the wood stove in the evening, and the jacuzzi warms you up after the cool hours by the water.
You come for the fishing. In the evening the whole group gathers in the house and sleeps well.

- Parking right at the house, also for a second car, plus two charging points.
- Wood stove and private jacuzzi for the evening, when everyone is back from the lake.

From €520 per night for the four-bedroom villa, about €65 per person for eight. For smaller groups there is the two-bedroom villa.
Permits made simple, no exam required
Your home fishing licence is not valid in Wallonia, but you do not need an exam here. The Walloon permit is bought online at permisdepeche.be in a few minutes, and a local lake permit completes it. We explain both steps below.
There is no fishing without a permit: the two Belgian permits are required, but quick to arrange.
Which permit do I need?
For Lake Bütgenbach, each person needs two permits. You can arrange both in advance online or on site at the Bütgenbach tourist office.

Do I need a fishing exam?
No. The Walloon permit requires no exam; you buy it online at permisdepeche.be. The Belgian permits themselves remain mandatory.
Which permits do I need?
Two: the Walloon permit (permit A for shore fishing with two rods) and the local LRPE permit. For a boat, permit B instead of A, plus a boat licence.
What does the fishing permit at Lake Bütgenbach cost?
The local permit costs €15 per day, €35 for 7 days, €45 for 14 days or €75 per year. The Walloon permit comes on top.
